Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for icing)

Instructions

  1. 1. Activate the Yeast: In a bowl, combine warm milk and sugar, then sprinkle yeast on top. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. 2. Make the Dough: In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Add melted butter, eggs, and the yeast mixture. Stir until combined.
  3. 3. Knead: Transfer dough to a floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. 4. Rise: Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm area for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. 5. Fill: Roll out dough into a rectangle, spread softened butter over it, then sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  6. 6. Roll & Slice: Tightly roll the dough into a log shape and slice into approximately 12 pieces.
  7. 7. Bake: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Place rolls on parchment-lined baking sheets and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  8. 8. Ice: Allow to cool slightly before drizzling with icing made from powdered sugar mixed with milk.
